Broadband in the Paddock: It's Possible

The Broadband in the Paddock: It’s Possible project utilises AgriNet’s sleepy Wi-Fi repeaters as the connectivity solution to support Iot on three farmer properties in the Merredin and surrounding districts.

In September 2018, MADFIG submitted two applications for State funding under the WA IoT DecisionAg program for matching funds up to a maximum of $45,000. The programs successful applicants will be able to trial on-farm telecommunications network solutions, decision tools and analytic data platforms, essentially assisting growers to make more informed, data-driven decisions.

The Broadband in the Paddock: It’s Possible project utilises AgriNet’s sleepy Wi-Fi repeaters as the connectivity solution to support IoT on three farmer properties in the Merredin and surrounding districts.

The project uses IoT devices including weather stations, rain gauges, soil moisture probes and cameras to improve tactical decisions at seeding, for sheep management and security across the farm and the integration of data through the Goanna Ag data platform.

This project is still being completed. More information will be provided when fully installed and operational on all three properties.
