MADFIG is delighted to be participating in this much needed 3-year project which involves 38-40 growers from around the country, working with designated local agronomists and guided through what can best be described as the VRT journey.
The project aims to demonstrate the value of adopting variable rate technology (VRT) on farm and to improve nutrient use efficiency by at least 15%, equipping growers with the confidence and skills to adopt the technology more broadly within their farming enterprises.
As the project progresses, we’ll follow along and share the journey as a local consultant works with three volunteer farming enterprises to begin understanding and implementing VRT into their business.
This $2.6 million project will be delivered by the SPAA team in collaboration with Curtin and Charles Sturt Universities, ten grower groups from across the country – with MADFIG proud to be one of them – and access to specialist precision agriculture consultants.
