Growers in the low rainfall zone of Western Australia (WA) are interested in the practice of fallowing however are hesitant to adopt the practice because there are knowledge gaps in both agronomy and economics.
This project looks at the best fallow system to adopt and how different fallow systems impact soil moisture, soil nitrogen, grain yield and quality. It will also look at the economic effects of different fallow systems in the Eastern Wheatbelt.
