This program assists Australian grain growers in varietal decision making by providing comparative information of commercially available grain varieties, including:
Each year MADFIG supports the National Variety Trials to occur in the Eastern Wheatbelt region. MADFIG Members provide sites to ensure that the trials occur locally and to allow growers/researchers and allied agribusiness to be able to visit and observe the growth stages as the season unfolds.
MADFIG rotates the Trial sites offered annually to ensure different areas have the opportunity. Results are available the following year via GRDC. For Season 2024 MADFIG would like to thank the Smith and Crook families for supporting this initiative and trialling Canola, Lupins, Chickpeas, Field Peas, Barley, Oats and Wheat.
How it works!
Biosecurity Matters! Visitors phone or text the farmer and the designated Living Farm contact before arrival. A QR code is located on the front gate on arrival and GRDC and Living Farm ask that visitors scan the QR code on the front gate on arrival to access the field plan for the trial.
